I too am having Roku Remotes eat batteries like mad, about every two weeks, I have to install fresh batteries. That' with very very lite use of the Roku Remote. This is ridiculous. How can I get replacement Roku remotes?

I work as a big tech engineer. It is a bad assumption to believe the remote is "eating batteries" as a hardware power consumption malfunction and not intentionally refusing to operate based on a fake "dead battery" report due to software programming.

It is not a warranty issue if the product was intentionally designed to "malfunction" this way in order to coerce unnecessary replacements and upgrades. That is a consumer rights issue. It would not be the first time a prominent tech company was caught falsely reporting battery capacity in order to stimulate sales.

Sadly I do not have the resources to know this for certain, but trend data in consumer reports paints a clear picture something is not right here.

I am one of the Roku users who is shocked to have to replace my remote batteries every few days! I use the tv connected maybe one or two times a day, it is not continuously running. I have read every post I can on this.

I would like a replacement remote sent out for my basically new television.

Roku Account: Dsgo0408@gmail.com

Model: 50R4AX

Hardware ID: G846X

Serial #: X01200YRPN63

Software version: 13.1.4 Updated 9/22/24

Remote: Model RC901

Name Enhanced Voice Remote

I am frustrated that this has taken me into an hour to find any type of solution and I am leery that this will be the one to fix it, let alone that anyone will even read it. I find it hard to believe that the only solution is the company tells its customers to buy a new remote. I just bought the TV back in July.

@DTG58 I have six Roku devices in my home including three TCL TVs with a Roku operating system.  I have had no problem with any of the devices using batteries at a high rate.  While I have seen a few posts about battery issues the last post in this thread is over a year ago.  Roku devices are very cheap and occassionaly some have faulty remotes.  A replacement remote for a Roku TV is about $10 and is likely the only solution to your problem.
