I am at my wits end. I’ve rebooted the device 40 times. Taken out and reinstalled the batteries a whole bunch of times. Press the pairing button, a whole bunch of times. And the remote just stays in pairing mode until the batteries are dead and never pairs. Roku’s tech support is insanely **bleep**. I’m never buying another Roku product again. I even purchased a different remote as I thought that may be the problem, but it’s the same over and over again.

What's the model number of your Roku device?  If it's a stick that has the Wi-Fi receiver embedded in the USB cable, the remote will never pair if that cable isn't being used or if the Wi-Fi receiver has failed.
