Even after restart, my RC701 remote running rtn.4228 keeps "spamming" single key IR command presses.
It happens 80%+ of the time when the Roku SS+ is off for more than a few hours. If I press the power key to start the Samsung TV -- which the USB power for the SS+ is connected to -- to boot up BUT the remote is still spamming the power button press.
Here are two videos showing the remote sending the IR code repeatedly even without me touching the power button. This is with the TV and Roku STILL powered off. The remote is doing this on its own.

HOWEVER:
If I press ANY OTHER non-RF command key on the remote BEFORE I press the power button, the remote does NOT spam the IR command.
This seems to point to the sleep/wake code timing. If I turn the TV off and wait less than 15 minutes or so and NOT pre-press another key first, the remote does NOT spam the IR code and starts fine.
It seems to only spam when the remote has not been used for over an hour.
I know there's a sleep/wake mode, but is there a "deep sleep" that the remote uses?
Thanks for the video showing the reproduction. This is a different issue than what we were having in the other thread, so I moved it into its own topic. I'll ask our remote control team to watch the video and they may contact for more information.
Try it.
Press and hold the pairing button on your voice remote for 20 seconds. The status light should slowly flash green, stop, and then flash rapidly. When this happens, release the pairing button and your remote will restart. Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds, or until you see the status light begin to flash.
Do the complete setup which includes selecting TV type & the ‘can you still hear music’
