RE: PRIVATE MESSAGES

To send a private message to someone in the Roku Community Forums, click on your recipient's name above or in one of the recipient's posts to bring up his/her profile, then click the purple "Send this user a private message" button (on a narrow display you may have to scroll down to see the button).

Note: You can only send a PM if you have not unchecked "Turn on private messages" in your own profile settings. Click on your avatar image near the upper right corner of the page to go to your profile, then Settings > Preferences > Private messenger.

RE: EATING BATTERIES

Yes, listening to earphones plugged into the remote significantly increases the battery drain.  The internal earphone amplifier is on any time the earphones are plugged into the remote, even if you're not watching anything, so make a point of unplugging those earphones when not in use.

I use the remote listening capability of the Roku app on my phone or tablet, with either the phone/tablet's built in speaker or a headset connected by plug or Bluetooth.  This puts no extra drain on the Roku remote batteries at all.
