Remote and device not working

Jump to solution

Hi, My device has totally stopped working. It has been working perfectly for 9 moths but not it's stopped. I have changed the batteries in the remote and reset the device and nothing is working. My tv makes a noise when I click a button and the roku flashes but nothing happens on the screen. It was stuck on the sign in/set up account for ages and I couldn't click anything and that's why I reset everything and but now nothing! Help please!!

Hi @sarahbutler,

Thanks for keeping us posted!

We appreciate the additional information you have provided, and we'll be delighted to assist you further with this problem you had with the Roku simple remote not working.

Here are a few tips to ensure that nothing is blocking the path between your remote and streaming device.

  • Make sure you can see the front of your device. Your remote must have a clear, unblocked line of sight to your streaming device. When the streaming device is powered on, you should see the status light on the front of the device.
  • Test your remote from various positions. Move your remote to the left and right while making sure it is always pointing directly at the front of your streaming device. If possible, move your streaming device to a position where it responds more reliably.
  • Do not hide your streaming player. If it is attached to your TV with the included adhesive strip, move it to a position where the signal is less likely to be blocked. Do not install it inside a closed cabinet or behind your TV.
