You need a remote. The only way to get it to connect without a remote is to set up your new WiFi exactly the same as your old WiFi.

If you're able to try this, please remember to report back so we know how this goes for you. So far this advice is only theoretical.
Thanks for the inquiry.
As @Tivoburkee mentioned, you will need a remote to set your device back up.
You can find a replacement Simple remote on our Product page here: Player Accessories

As @renojim mentioned, you will need a remote to set up your device again and connect to your wireless network. What Roku model device do you have? With that information, we can provide you with appropriate replacement remote for your device.
Thanks,
Danny
I'm trying to give my old roku to someone and the original remote has been missing, so it was used with the downloaded app on the phone. Now, trying to set up with the new owner, don't an IP address, can't find/ won't connect to mine/owner phone either. I would appreciate the assistance.
I just got a roku stick but no remote, how can I set it up without a remote?
You need a remote. No app will work until it's connected to your network and you can't connect it to your network without a remote. A cheap universal remote that supports Roku will do.
It can't be done, sorry. And if this stick is purple then there is not replacement remote available anymore.
I just moved and don’t have the actual remote. I have the app downloaded on new phone and when I search for my device it can’t find it to set up on my tv. I have done a reset on my express and now I have no way to control the options on my tv.
Thanks for the inquiry.
