Onn Roku TV froze and keeps resetting itself

My Onn Roku TV froze and factory reset itself last night.

The remote, which is a replacement remote, will only power the tv on and off. All other functions are unavailable.

The button below the television will also only power the television on or off. It will not toggle the setup screen so I can finish the factory reset.

Re: Factory Reset / Remote not working

What remote did you get?  Can you post a link to it or a picture of it?

The remote does light up with a green light indicator when powering the television on and off.

Re: Factory Reset / Remote not working

Hello, @NMarcolini, and welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that you’re encountering difficulties with your Roku remote buttons not functioning properly. We would be more than happy to assist you in resolving this issue.

Before we proceed, we would like to gather some details to better assist you.

  • Can you provide the serial number of the Roku device it is paired with?
  • When did you first notice this issue?
  • Have you tried changing the remote batteries?
  • Is there a pairing button on the back of the remote?
In the meantime, kindly try to reboot your remote by following the steps provided:
  • If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
  • If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home for 20 seconds.
We also recommend following our troubleshooting steps to assist you in resolving these remote issues

Restart your streaming device to enter pairing mode:
  1. Remove the power cord from your streaming device
  2. Wait at least 5 seconds
  3. Re-connect the power cord
Once you see the Home screen, follow the steps in the next section to put your voice remote into pairing mode and complete the pairing process with your streaming device.

Thank you very much for your cooperation, and we look forward to helping you resolve this matter!

Best regards,
Jharra
