Greetings here in the Roku Community, @goparrish!
We see that you're experiencing issues with pairing your Roku remote to your Roku device. Please try replacing the remote batteries and using a different HDMI port or TV. We also suggest resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Jharra
I have the same issue. I have a TCL Roku TV that’s stuck on the language screen after I factory reset it. I’ve tried two different remotes (one with a reset button and one without) and tried to pair both accordingly. I hadn’t been using a Roku remote before just my phone with the app so I don’t have the one that came with the TV.
I have tried unplugging waiting 20 seconds then replugging in the TV as well as everything else on this list.
Thank you for your response, @Ljacobson!
We would appreciate your assistance in troubleshooting the issue further. Could you please let us know if you have attempted to change the batteries in the remote? Additionally, has there been any indication of a blinking light on the remote?
To better assist you, we kindly request the following information:
1. What is the model of your Roku remote?
2. Which Roku device is paired with this remote?
3. Was this remote purchased separately, or is it part of the device package?
Additionally, if possible, we would be grateful if you could share a picture of the remote. You can upload images from your computer (which will add the image to your gallery), from your image gallery (if the image has been approved), or from another online source.
We value your cooperation and look forward to resolving this matter with you.
Thank you,
Jharra
Edit: now the power button is working but nothing else (I already tried replacing the batteries)
I have tried changing the batteries and there is a green blinking light. I purchased the remote separately.
Hi @Ljacobson,
Thank you for your recent update. We would greatly appreciate it if you could provide the necessary information mentioned above, as it will help us assist you more effectively.
Thank you for taking the time to help us with this matter.
Best,
Jharra
I forgot to also mention I can get the model numbers because of the screen I’m stuck on. Unless it’s somewhere on the TV I’m not sure.
@Ljacobson The serial number (SN) for Roku-branded TVs can be found on a white label located near the center of the back of the TV. If you are unable to locate the serial number or device ID on a Roku TV made by a different manufacturer, please visit the support website for the manufacturer of your TV for further assistance.
Does this work?
SN for the Roku TV: 1710GTCO01875AO3272
it is difficult to differentiate the “O” from the “0” so I’m not entirely sure I’m correct.
