I bought a new remote for it. The Remote does not work!! How do I return for a refund???
I can't talk to support because they do not like the Roku 3.
Roku 3 is still being supported by Roku, and it is capable of running the current Roku 11.5 operating system.
What remote did you buy? The 4200 is listed as being compatible with current Roku Voice Remotes (Source: https://support.roku.com/article/360010940514):

Note that point-anywhere remotes, like the Roku 3's original remote and current Voice Remotes, connect via radio frequencies (RF) and must be paired with the Roku unit you intend to use them with. Video from Roku re how to pair point-anywhere remotes:

If instead, you purchased the Roku Simple Remote, unlike the point-anywhere remote that came with the Roku 3, this is an infrared (IR) remote that must have a direct line of sight to the IR receiver on the front of the Roku 3. You can't mount a Roku 3 out of sight if you want to use an IR remote. IR remotes can't be paired with a Roku, they just work with any IR-equipped Roku (i.e. all Rokus except Streaming Stick models).
I bought a simple IR remote for $15. It does nothing! How do I return it??
I have tried all the methods in the Roku support notes. The Remote does not work!!
How do I return it???????
Thanks for the posts.
From whom did you purchase the IR remote from? Did you purchase the remove from the Roku website or from a third party retailed?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
I bought it from ROKU
You can start by posting serial number of the Roku it isn't controlling. The remote doesn't have SN, but the Roku SN will do.
Serial 1GU47D076796
Model 4200X
