I have several (like 5) Roku products. Each and everyone of them have battery/remote issues. This product is a defect and needs fixing. I have had this issue and products for at least 5 years. It appears that this is not a reflection of a majority of Roku users/owners, but it definitely is an issue the company needs to rectify.
I am not the remote control wizard, but I could take one apart and solder connections if needed…….so, I’m not stupid. Fix your remotes. I want to believe in the product I bought and support, but it is hard to do when all the remotes are seemingly defective.
roku….fix your **bleep**!!!!
Hi, @Timmylong, and welcome to the Roku Community!
Thank you for joining us. To help you effectively with your Roku remote issue, please provide the specific problems you’re experiencing along with the serial number of the Roku player to which the remote is paired.
In addition, is this the remote that came with your device? If not, could you specify the type of Roku remote you have? Is there a pairing button on the back of the remote? Have you tried replacing the batteries? If this is a voice remote, can you confirm if it is a Voice Remote Pro or Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition)?
We will wait for your response and assist you further with this issue.
Thanks,
Jharra
I occasionally get low battery messages that don't seem to reflect time in use. I was replacing batteries when I got the messages, but after a while I began checking voltages with a meter, and found that the batteries were not depleted. Since then, when I get a low battery message, I remove the batteries, waiting about 30 seconds, ten replace the batteries. This resolves the issue nearly every time. It doesn't address the cause of the erroneous report, but it has been an acceptable workaround for me. YMMV.
On one of my Voice Remotes, I had to switch the left battery into the right battery position (and vice versa). Bought a few more weeks/months until message appeared and then repeated procedure again. Only when the swapping procedure no longer worked would I then replace the batteries.
