Hanging onto receipts for things under warranty is a good idea or at the very least take a photo of the receipt so you have it when needed.  There are a couple good phone app scanners, such as adobe scan or slack that can scan receipts and save them for you.

You could try to reach out to your Credit card/bank card or check your card's account on their website to see if you can find the transaction on your card to provide and/or reach out to Best buy to see if they can provide you a copy of the transaction.  Hopefully Roku would take that, but I can't say for sure.

I didn't know Roku had a warranty for the remote. I paid cash in the store and has a two week return policy.

I do "not" want to use my cellphone or tablet as a remote that is the reason why I bought a remote.

How is Bestbuy responsible for a Roku remote? It is a Roku product so it's Roku's fault for shipping a faulty remote to a store so a customer can buy it.

Well, you can try to appeal your case to Roku and see what happens. Most companies will not do much without a receipt though, but I hope you have good luck with it.  I mentioned Best buy as a way to get a copy of your receipt, but if you paid cash, then the only way would be to ask them if they could provide a copy of a receipt for a specific day and time, but that is unlikely.

You can also try what I indicated earlier and see if those technical solutions work, by re-pairing or unplugging the Roku for 30 to 60 seconds and see if that fixes your issue.

How can I contact Roku when they do not provide anything?

Yes, I already tried repairing, unplugging and plugging both the TV and box. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

If you didn't think it had a warranty in the first place, then I guess it's no great loss to find out you don't have the receipt, but lots things have a warranty of 180 days to a few years, so it's a good idea to hold on to receipts for awhile.

However, I googled a bit and it looks like you can log into your Best Buy account and (re)print receipts for "recent" purchases! I've also seen someone post that they were able to get that done in a store. Pretty cool.

Banned but back. Because why not?

Do not think that will work for cash transactions though, which is what the poster is indicating.

Some companies will let you add your receipt to your online account (such as HD), even cash ones, so you can save them, but you need the details on the receipt to do that.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will pay closer attention to warranties.

I had bought the remote in cash in the store. I'm not looking for cash, I just want a remote that works.

  • Test with different power outlets, micro USB cables, and USB chargers.
  • To reset the remote, Press and hold the Back/pairing button and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. For detailed instructions on how to reset the remote, refer to this support link: How to fix your Roku voice remote that is not working | Roku.
If the issue persists after trying the troubleshooting steps provided, kindly send me a Private Message with the following details:
  1. Serial number of the Roku player this remote is paired to.
  2. Is this the remote that came with that device? If not, kindly specify if this is a Voice Remote Pro or Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition).
  3. When and where did you purchase this?
