Remote stopped working. After factory reset on stick+, the remote will not pair. We are stuck on remote pairing screen. Because of reset, I cannot use mobile app because stick is likely not on WiFi. How do we get it to function again? It is a new voice remote.
Hi, @Elmerhouse26, Greetings here in the Roku Community!
We understand that you wish to pair your remote, and we appreciate your letting us know. We're here to assist you with this.
We recommend the following steps to pair your remote:
(If your voice remote has a pairing button, it will be located either on the back of the remote or under the battery cover.)
(If your remote does not have a pairing button, use the steps in the next section instead.)
We recommend following the steps outlined above. If your device still has not paired, please note that both your voice remote and streaming device need to be in pairing mode at the same time to complete the pairing process. Please attempt the previous steps again to ensure that both your Roku streaming device and voice remote are in pairing mode.
If have already tried to pair your remote and streaming device again, visit the article with detailed instructions on how to fix issues with your Roku voice remote.
Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Jharra
Hi, @Elmerhouse26 . Roku says it will send you a free HDMI extender if your Roku Streaming Stick might be getting interference from the stick being plugged directly into your TV. Start out by ordering that through the form at my.roku.com/hdmi . Even if the stick worked that way before, the HDMI port might have problems now.
Hope this helps--

Hi, @All47verses, @Elmerhouse26,
Thanks for sharing on the Roku Community!
I just wanted to add to what @All47verses mentioned—using an HDMI extender can help you position your Stick closer to your WiFi router. If the troubleshooting steps mentioned above don't work, you can get a free Roku HDMI extender from our Roku page HDMI extender and see if it makes any difference.
We would recommend trying to see if that resolves your issue. Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Jharra
@Elmerhouse26, there are a few easy troubleshooting things you can try early on. First, if you have a friend with a Roku, ask if you can try to pair your remote with their streamer. (Your friend can easily click on "Forget this remote" once your test is done.) That will help determine if the trouble is in the remote.
If that's not an option, at least be sure there are fresh alkaline batteries installed if the batteries are removable, or that an internal battery is fully charged.
Then try moving the stick to each of the other HDMI ports on your TV to see if you have any better luck getting past the pairing screen. As soon as one works, go all the way through the initial setup process -- you can try moving the stick back to its original HDMI port later.
If that doesn't help and you have a second TV with HDMI ports, try installing the streamer on that TV. Sometimes these things are just finicky during installation. You can always change settings after you move the stick back to the TV you want it on.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
