Hi @pscottbaker,
Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!
We understand that you are experiencing an issue with your Roku TV, which is constantly off when powering it on.
We are interested in learning more about the problem you are experiencing, but we need more details.
However, we recommend trying these quick steps by navigating to Settings > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection. Also, could you restart your router/modem and then try to reconnect your device? Or unplug your Roku TV from the power source for 10 to 30 seconds to see if the issue persists afterward.
Please keep us posted, and we'll continue assisting you from there.
All the best,
Chel
Thanks for letting us know about this, @Beachkid!
We couldn't be happier to assist you, and we thank you for providing us with this fantastic opportunity.
We're so glad to hear that the issue has been resolved, and we appreciate your patience, effort, and understanding throughout the process.
You’re awesome! Happy Streaming!
All the best,
Chel
I am having the same issue. I power the tv on and it powers off. When I turn it back on it is usually ok but at times the streaming app that I select will come up with an error message. I have been able to get everything working again by going to System settings and doing a system restart. The power off issue has happened again.
i have the 65" Roku Plus Series 4k tv
Model 65R6AX, software version 14.0
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out. I thought my issue was fixed, but it just happened again. I updated my software earlier today and still happened. Basically, when I first power on and this brings me to home screen with my apps. Then when I scroll to say Netflix, it powers down. No error message or nothing.
Not sure what else it may be. Thought it was fixed. After the initial glitch of the tv powering off, it is fine.
I do have the same Roku TV.
Maybe reach out to support. Will try and let you know if I get any results.
Hello,
I thought I had a solution as a result of unplugging the tv and plugging back in. However, it is happening again. Here is some more information. At the Home Screen, I will move to open up a streaming app and then it shuts down. I have noticed that when I power up, the tv turns on quickly, like it may be in a sleep mode. Not sure if that is something. Software is up to date and it seems to be fine after the initial glitch.
Thank you.
Thank you. I'll do the same. I have a feeling that it may get corrected with their updates🤞
I’ve been having the same problem for several weeks. I press power, the tv comes on. I press an arrow on the remote to select an app and the tv powers off. I press power again and it works normally. It does seem like the tv was sleeping instead of off. It was definitely turned off with the power button on the remote previously.
It is frustrating, not sure what else to do. I did go to settings>power>reset tv and that seemed to work. Got that nugget from the Roku support team, which I was not impressed with. This fix seemed to work initially, but that issue popped up again. So not sure what else to say.
I will try support again and let you know if I find anything.
Same issue here on two different TCL Roku TVs, so it's most likely a recently released untested software update. Just LOVE being crash test dummies for lazy, incompetent Software Developer dummies. I'm sure the repeated turning on and off is shortening the life of the TVs. It's certainly annoying
It's not resolved. It's been going on for over a MONTH now. Turning off Fast Start doesn't eliminate the problem. Happening on TWO different TCL Roku TV's, so it's a software issue probably related to an update Roku didn't fully test and haven't fixed.
It's happening on TWO different TCL Roku TVs, different models and sizes for over a month now. Both updated to the latest version 14.0.4 Build 12221. Turning off Fast Start doesn't resolve the issue. Resetting the device doesn't resolve the issue. As you can tell from this forum, I am far from the only one this has effected, and it's not just TCL TV's, but it IS just Roku TV's. No error messages.
