turn off the sound when moving around in the menu

Jump to solution

When I move around in the menu there is an irritating sound each time I click on a movie or move to a different channel on my Express 4K.  I can't remember how to turn that off.  This doesn't happen on my other Roku Streaming Stick.

Hi @barbnor2,

Thanks for your first post in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you informing us about the issue and we would be more than happy to assist you with your Roku device.

You may have accidentally enabled "Screen reader" and that's why your Roku player sounds like it's been talking to you. You can turn off the Screen reader by pressing the * button on your remote 4 times quickly.

For more information, visit our Support page here: How to enable the text-to-speech screen reader on your Roku® streaming device | Official Roku Suppor...

Please try doing this and see if it helps with what you're experiencing.

Best regards,
Mary

@barbnor2, if it's the "clunk" sound you hear every time you press a button it's under Settings->Audio->Menu volume.
