Streaming players appear in the list of Google Home automation starter devices and currently support "Turns on or off."  Changing the on/off state does not, however, actually trigger the routine.

Is anyone able to use a streaming player as a Google Home automation starter?

This means you can initiate a Google Home routine by interacting with the streaming device through voice commands on your TV using the Google Assistant; essentially, you can "Ok Google" on your TV to start a home automation sequence.
