Sound/Volume issues- random volume rising falling & popping

Has anyone figured out why the sound has started having issues while using the Roku ultra? I’ve done all the same stuff of turning off /on, unplugging , software update etc… I’ve read so many threads about this & am about to have to buy a new device. Have had different ones and always loved Roku (I have 3 different ones) but am considering apple+ or something other if I can’t get some help. Super disappointing #ultra #sound #rokuultra

Re: Sound/Volume issues- random volume rising falling & popping

Hey, @Amandab6.

It's great to have you here!

Were there any recent updates before this happened? Are all the channels affected, or only specific ones?

In the meantime, have you tried turning off the Volume Leveling and see if it helps with the audio issue?

Please keep us posted!

@Amandab6

If you have a newer Ultra (4800/4802/4850) make sure of the following settings:

1) Configure passthrough: Settings/Audio/Digital output format = Passthrough (do NOT use Auto, as that can cause the issues you describe due to transcoding)

2) Disable Sound Modes: During playback of any video - press Options (*)/Sound settings/Customize sound modes/Volume leveling & Dialog enhancement = Off
