Re: Video Ads Autoplaying on Homescreen
I just experienced an auto ad on my home screen. I could not exit it. I bought this device as an easy way to have all my streaming services on one platform. If i continue to get autoplay ads on my home screen I will be replacing this device and tv immediately.@support

Re: Video Ads Autoplaying on Homescreen
Adding to the list.. If the cost of using/buying Roku is MY devices being locked out with INTRUSIVE noise.. I will be replacing all devices by the end of the week. I'm not sure I want to stay with Roku after this. Testing or not... someone thought this would be acceptable to "test".
You want more money then raise the **bleep** price... you don't lock out someone's property then expect them to remain loyal to the brand. This is distasteful and should have been obvious.

Re: Ads on home screen must stop
Try this: Settings/Accessibility/Autoplay video, change to OFF.

Re: Autoplaying pop-up Ads on my Home Screen
They’re really overstepping with this. About to throw my whole 2 $600 TVs in the garbage. They keep adding stuff to make the experience WAY WORSE.

Put Roku ads on your free channels and not on the Home Screen
We have just gotten a new TV and set up the Roku on it. We never had ads before but when I use voice to select my paid provider, ads come on and it is a pia to figure out how to get what I want. If you want to use ads, just put them on your free channels, which I don’t watch. I won’t put up with this. If it doesn’t change, I will be looking for something else.

Auto-playing ads on TCL tvs
Hey all, wanted to share how to disable the Roku on your TCL tv until they realize we don’t want their auto-playing bull**bleep** ads on our tvs.
Here are the steps:
- Factory reset your tv
- set up as a home device
- on the choose your network screen, select “set up later”
- next set up your devices. Turn them all on and let the tv pick them up and assign them to the inputs
- now you will have your tv acting as a standard non “smart tv” if you want Roku features you can connect to the internet at a later time but then must redo these steps
I personally plan on just using a fire stick or my Xbox to use my streaming services
Good Luck!

Re: Video Ads Autoplaying on Homescreen
I just bought this tv then saw this.. I didn't even see the ad due to my frustration of trying to close it.
Roku will be dead in my household if this continues.

Re: Video Ads Autoplaying on Homescreen
Yeah. If this bug isn't fixed very very soon, my Roku device is going to become target practice, and my steam deck is going to become my video playback device. It's a Linux computer and it doesn't serve ads.

Re: Autoplay video ads on home screen
There are tons of alternatives, all these channels are... are websites.
