Miracast : Roku shows the connecting screen even before p2p connection is established
Miracast in Roku is broken
a) Roku shows the connecting screen (in sink) even before p2p connection is established. This is very distracting to the user.
b) If the p2p connection is cancelled by source by cancel-connect, it takes long time to recover and get into "discoverable mode".
Overall Miracast in Roku is really bad compared to Firestick!!

Re: Miracast : Roku shows the connecting screen even before p2p connection is established
1) RokuOS only shows the "connecting screen" (from the RokuCast receiver app) after the source initiates a connection attempt - you may be confusing/inverting this with FireOS, which requires exclusive app/screen mode for the Miracast functionality and the "connection screen" is always shown before any connection attempt.
2) It usually takes ~5-15 seconds for the Miracast receiver (RokuCast app) to become available again after cancelled connections (problematic connections may take longer depending on the nature of the problem).
Its good to use both RokuOS and FireOS devices as part of a multi-platform streaming strategy, so its best to keep and use both depending which device has the superior app/functionality @ the time (this can and does change)...

Thanks for quick response. Now I understand that RokuCast App loads as soon as p2p connection request is received. I am not comparing this with FireOS. I compared the "cancellation performance with it".
Is it possible to delay showing anything on screen, till full session is setup (p2p + streaming)?
2) Time taken by Roku to recover from cancellation/disconnection can definitely be improved. It would be good to revisit this from Engineering stand point.
