I have Roku 4640X connecting to a TV to watch YouTube.
My YouTube have several accounts: A, B, C, etc
I watched YouTube with account A, paused the video, and then turned off the TV.
After several hours or a day when I turn on the TV again, I want the TV immediately connecting to the same account and continue on the paused video screen.
This used to work when I set: Roku => Setting => Network: Bandwidth Saver = OFF.
However, recently this does not work anymore. Does not work means when I turn on the TV, it asked to select the account (A, B, C) and the video to watch.
I had tried power on/off the Roku (to reset)l, set/reset the bandwidth saver option and unable to get it to work as before.
Any suggestion how to get back to work as before ?

Thank you very much for responding !
As I had mentioned in my first post the Roku device model is 4640X.
Software version is 14.1. I never do any manual software update. I must be doing automatic update.
System log shows that the last update was 1/8/2025.
I think there was no problem before 1/8/2025. I first notice this problem about 1 month (Feb) ago.
Let me know information needed, or suggested fixes to try. Maybe 1)get next update 2)get previous update ?
Thanks for the update, @AndrewTham!
Have you given this step a shot?

I am having the same issue. We leave the tv on during the day for our dog and no matter we try, it shuts off after four hours. Band with saver is off. I’ve reset the device five times so far. We run the direct tv app. TCL model 55S451. Software version 14.1. Last update check was an hour ago. Seriously thinking of going back to our old tv because this isn’t working and I hate coming home to a silent house after being at work all day.
DirecTV may have their own "bandwidth saver", so look for a setting within the app, but frankly, no provider wants to waste resources streaming to dogs.
It isn’t Direct TV and if I’m paying for it, it’s my prerogative to do so even if it is for my dog. If we are home on a Saturday and have Sirius XM playing, guess what, *are you still there* pops up as well after four hours. If I switch to the Direct TV Genie or my Apple TV, it still shuts off. Bandwith Saver DOESN’T WORK. Roku shouldn’t have the ability to have bandwidth saver if there is no intention to have it work. I found this issue all over online last night. But thank you for your helpful advice. We think we just decided to just get rid of all our six Roku TVs we just got last month and go back. Not worth the hassle for us. Have a great day!

I am reluctant to try the above suggestion. If I understand right, the channel is my YouTube channel.
I spent 99.9% of my Roku time on YouTube, and have saved MANY subscriptions, Likes, favorites etc.
I am guessing if I Remove the channel, all these saved settings are gone !
I believed the Roku bandwidth saver was working before the software update on 1/8/2025.
The following solution will be acceptable to me:
1) Disable the auto software update - how to do this ?
2) Revert back the software version before 1/8/2025.
I actually don't necessary want the streaming all the time. I have multiple account on the YouTube channel. All I wanted is for Roku to STAY ON the same account after I turn off the TV.
When I turn on the TV again, it just stay in the same account. Currently it goes back to the account selection and need me to select one of the account. I don't want to do this.
Thanks for keeping in touch, @AndrewTham!
If you're feeling unsure about trying the steps below, no worries! Just so you know, even if you delete and reinstall the app, your subscriptions won't vanish; they're all linked to your account. Just log back into that account, and everything will be right where you left it!
Also, we still don't have the option to turn off the auto software update feature on Roku, as all Roku TV™ models and Roku® streaming players are designed to always run the latest software. Furthermore, we also don't have an option to revert the device's software once it has been downloaded.
In the meantime, we would recommend doing the above steps to see if there are any changes.
Let us know how it went!
