Roku always on playback of iPlayer or Skynews
Hi , looking to use Roku media player to get iPlayer or Sky news into an area that can’t get an aerial feed. But need it to play 24/7 without going to sleep or the iPlayer app or Sky news app stopping the video after some time.
is there a setting to turn off sleep mode?
any one got experience using Roku for always on TV feed?

Re: Roku always on playback of iPlayer or Skynews
The Roku itself doesn't have a "sleep" function. It does have something called Bandwidth Saver that will stop playback after four hours if the remote isn't used. But that can be disabled under the network settings. However, the apps/channels themselves might have a limit on how long they will stream without user interaction, and any ability to disable that would be found within the app itself. Roku would have no control over such functionality and only the app/channel provider can answer that for certain if such a setting exists.

Thanks for info, does anyone know if there is a remote button press that will keep the iPlayer active without interrupting it?
Or is there a banner pop up that you need to click on to keep it active.
thanks

Since iPlayer is only available in the UK, unfortunately none of us in the US can answer that question. 🙂

@TV247, any button should work to make it think someone's still watching. This comes to mind:
