Got the same thing and thought the same thing. Came here to see if anyone else was messaged. I'll prob do it.
Powering using the stock adapter that came with the device. Normally in a power bar, but al tried directly into the wall.
In terms of hDMI, cable seems fine, but as a precaution tries a different one with no change in behaviour. As for my tv it has only one HDMI port so nothing I can adapt there.
I got a follow-up reply stating that my replacement device was being shipped, says I should receive within 5-7 business days.
Gotta wonder, am I getting a refurbished 2016 model that someone else already returned?
I have worked through all the suggestions but continue to have the dancing ROKU letters.... extremely agravating...now when I occasionally manage to get to the network password page and try to enter my password the letters move extremely fast and will not land on the letter/number I want...if I do happen to get the right one it produces it twice..... SO FRUSTRATING....
the other Roku I have in my home is working fine...

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue with your Roku Ultra 4640X. Here’s a summary of the troubleshooting steps I’ve taken so far:
1. Power Source: I have confirmed that the Roku device is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip. I have also attempted to restart the Roku device by unplugging it for about 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
2. Timing of the Issue: Not sure what time it started, found out yesterday when I switched hdmi to roku input and saw the dancing Roku.
3. HDMI Cable: I have tried using a different HDMI cable and also switched the HDMI outputs on the back of my TV, but the problem persists. I ensured that my TV is set to the correct input source for the Roku device
Please let me know if there are any additional steps I should take or if you need further information.
Thank you for your assistance!
Best regards,
