Please be advised that it isn't possible to hide this Search Bar, but you can customize other parts of your left navigation column by navigating to Home > Settings > Home screen and looking at the options.

For the record, it "was" possible to hide it before since it didn't exist in this state previously, it simply isn't now due to changes folks made for reasons that were not related to improving the customer experience obviously. Even if I wish to make a search, which I rarely do, I will refuse to use that cursed space consumer out of principle if nothing else.
You would think after enough business snafus [New Coke, X, etc.], folks making the big decisions would stop breaking things that were already fixed.
I don’t think your response is factual, as there are times when the home screen comes up with no search bar at the top. (like this morning when it suddenly changed to a Blue Background.)
You’re missing the point on this be a NEGATIVE for customer service. Users are tell you that they don’t NEED/WANT this function, and yet you persist? Epic fail in customer service. This should be a simple software fix, and you’re NOT willing to do that?
As I noted in my original post, I have to buy several large screen TVs for our church, and since we have to click at least one more time to get to the HDMI1, I can’t recommend this for users who are not very tech oriented. There is a search function over to the left.
Get this fixed NOW!!!

While I realize that you are limited to responding with whatever scripted comments you are allowed, may I point out that we are all very aware that "it isn't possible to hide this Search Bar" This is, I believe, the third time we have been so advised by moderators in the 3-1/2 months and 9 pages (currently) of this topic. There have also been lots of mentions of forwarding feedback to the appropriate team. What there haven't been are results. Admittedly, I don't know much about computer programming. However, I have the utmost confidence that someone who does can quickly figure out a way to either remove that search bar or make it optional. Probably the person who figured out how to add it. Go ask that person. Hurry, before they leave for the weekend.
