When I go to Photo Streams I see canned photos I did not upload. When I read instructions on how to use Photo Streams i am directed to menu options that I don't see on my TV nor on my account.
I did follow the instructions to connect my Google photos, but then what? How do you PLAY the photos in your Google Photo albums on your Roku TV? Instructions say click on "Create Stream." I don't see "Create Stream" anywhere. Where is it?
I've read other similar threads but i see no answers, only complaints and questions. Does this forum actually provide answers to anything?
I first thought this was a 3rd party channel, but now I see it's something Roku offers. I just installed it, and when I started the channel it first offered me a video to watch that explains how to use it. Instead I clicked the Get started button, and it popped up a QR code for me to scan from my mobile device to upload photos. Since I don't have any such pictures to upload, I didn't go any further. But it does seem to provide instructions on use. I also found this web page that has more detailed instructions. It appears that much (all?) of the configuration is done with the Roku app on a phone or tablet or via a web page, not within the channel itself.
Right. But when you do all that stuff and follow the instructions, it doesn't work. So, this is not a solution.

I set it up using their web interface to draw the photos from Google Photos. As others have posted, this appears to be a deadend. There is no next step shown after it comes back and says Google Photos is connected. There is no menu option for "create stream." It all appears to be a ghost ship. Nobody home. No wind in the sails. No grub in the larder.
Let me know if you get it working.
I guess it must work as people complain about it throwing up QR codes at times:

@CliffsideJim, where are you located? While I can't find anything that specifically says where Photo Streams is available, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a US only thing. I can't find it in the Canada Channel Store, for example. Here's a link to the US Channel Store app:

I added some photos from my local computer. I don't use Google Photos, so can't test that. But using their web page uploaded the pictures without a problem, and when I immediately fired up my Premiere the pictures were all there and displayable. Perhaps there's a permissions issue with Google Photos that their web page doesn't cover. Since I don't use it, I can't say how it's supposed to work.

@CliffsideJim, if you can't add the app from the link I gave above then there's a good chance that your Roku account isn't associated with the US or you have an old Roku device that doesn't support the Photo Stream app.
Right. But when you do all that stuff and follow the instructions, it doesn't work. So, this is not a solution.
