Is there anyway to customize the ads you see on the home screen? I'm getting ads for Rap Sh!t right now and I really don't want profanity on the TV my kids are using. I know this is how they make their money but it isn't a show anyone in the house is interested in or remotely close to anything I ever watch. Does roku give you any way to customize or parental controls for the ads being shown?
According to Roku Support, Roku devices do not offer a global parental control setting to restrict access to content across all streaming channels. However, you can configure access limits based on ratings in certain situations.
Which app on your Roku device does this occur on anyway?
BTW, Roku does not manufacture the TVs themselves (assuming you have a RokuTV). They just furnish the integrated RokuOS system and license it to an actual TV manufacturer. Therefore, you could contact the TV manufacturer. What brand is your RokuTV set?

I came here to ask the same question after seeing the same ad. I use a Roku Ultra and the ad appears on the Roku Home Screen. We should have the option to filter out inappropriate content on the home screen ads.
@JRo1 ok well I don’t know when it’s going to happen, so…… someone at Roku can probably help you more in this situation.

My TV is a TCL but this isn't coming from the TV it's the roku home screen on it. I'm not looking for a global control to police what's onside the apps I understand that what I'm asking for is the ability to control what ads Roku is showing me on the roku home menu.
Found this and similar threads after having a preview for "Murder House Flip" shoved in front of us during the lunch hour, and was doubly insulted when logging into the website and seeing an even more graphic advert for the same program! Far be it from me to judge those who enjoy the True Crime genre, but this household doesn't want to be a part of the glorification of the worst parts of humanity.
It is a puzzlement that this sort of control doesn't already exist on ROKU. At the movie theater, the trailers are now matched to the MPAA rating of the film they precede. Netflix parental controls have the option of excluding specific titles....while that's a lot of effort to manage, it's something we've learned to work with. Point being, this technology/feature does exist elsewhere.
At the very least, it would be nice to have some kind of control that extends filters on actual content advertisements/previews, so for example if I choose to restrict the actual viewing of TV-MA content, then I won't receive any ads/previews for any TV-MA programs.
@CoffeeGoat, there is a place to make suggestions. I don't know if they go anywhere, but if enough people speak up they may.

@renojimThanks for the tip; this was already on my to-do list.
