Everything I've read makes it sound very straightforward and simple. From the System , select Power and then select "Fast TV Start".
Only there is no "Fast TV Start" option shown, the only options given are "System Restart" and "Auto Power Savings".
This is a brand new Roku Streaming 4K Stick.
Any ideas?
The "Fast TV Start" is a feature available on RokuTVs. (TV with an integrated/built-in Roku OS).
It is not available on Roku devices.
I guess the roughly analogous thing to that in a Roku player would be to turn off the automatic power saving mode, depending on what you’re trying to achieve. (ie: with power savings on, you save a little power at the expensive of having to wake the Roku up with a button press.)
Thanks for your reply, I did shut off power saving. Still no Fast Start option.
With auto power saving off, your Roku should be instantly available. How fast the TV starts is up to the TV.
By the way, what I said above assumes that the Roku is plugged into the wall – not a USB plug on the TV. If you plug a Roku into a TV USB port, then that may remove power when the TV is off, causing the Roku to have to do a cold boot when the TV is turned back on, which takes a while.
Yes, of course my TV is plugged in!
I did an online chat with a Roku customer support person. The answer to this problem (incase there are others with the same issue) is Fast TV start in only on a Roku tv and in the Streambar.
Yes, but that was covered by the first reply in this thread, so I assumed you were still looking for more information to fix some issue.
And by the way, I was talking about plugging the Roku power into the wall vs a USB port on the TV, not whether the TV was plugged in.
