Is there a way to customize the content on Guest Mode welcome screen? For example, a QR code for wifi, a welcome for each guest to include their name (can you develop API for popular rental apps like ABB, VRBO, OwnerRez)?
Then once in guest mode, can I preload most popular apps like YouTube TV, Spotify, Paramount+, ESPN, local channels, etc.?
Many companies like Yodeck sell this product...I'd like to not have multiple interfaces in my home.
Hi @Evianproperties,
Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!
We value your inquiry and interest in learning more about customizing the guest mode welcome screen on Roku. By default, your guests will be greeted on the TV with the message "Welcome! Enjoy your stay." Use the following instructions to customize the Guest Mode welcome screen:
You can add channels in Guest Mode the same way you would on your own Roku streaming device. Some apps, like The Roku Channel, CBS News, iHeartRadio, and YouTube, let you stream content without signing in. In Guest Mode, you cannot make purchases that are billed to your host's Roku account. You can only make purchases when you sign in to an app where you have a payment method on file.
For more information about guest mode, you may check out this support article here.
Best regards,
John

It appears that when in guest mode the guest would choose their check out date. This is handy but for each guest checking in it appears the Home Screen is a blank sleight and the guest would be required to set up their home page and add channels. Is there a way that as an Airbnb owner we can have a pre made home page that automatically has some of the popular apps ready for them? Some guests aren’t all savvy on how a Roku works so it would be nice to not have to explain to each guest how to set up their home page each time a new guest checks in.
@Gmrkmaster1, it's been asked for many times, but it isn't possible. From what I can tell, "Guest Mode" is more for people that already use a Roku device and want to be able to use their services when they travel, but not sign into their services on someone else's Roku account:
"The next time you see a Roku streaming device in a short-term rental, ask your host to put the device into Guest Mode. In Guest Mode, you can sign into your own apps to watch your content."

It's not so much for the "host" to supply Roku devices to its guests that may not know how to use one.
I am more interested in being able to customize the payload of default apps that the Roku loads when starting guest mode. I would like to pre-load the Jellyfin client as I provide a media server locally in my cabins.
@etrigan63 I've never played with Guest Mode, but from the comment made above by @RokuJohnB it is now possible to preload channels/apps for guest use. Unless they have restrictions about which channels can be loaded, you should be able to have Jellyfin loaded for guest use.
EDIT: I take that back. After looking at the link provided, it seems he meant that the guest can add channels themselves, not that you can pre-load a channel for Guest mode. It's been a requested function for a long time, but still nothing.
New Roku ultra (2024) user here,
can you please advise on step 3 for customizing the Welcome Screen.
I have followed the directions specifically, but step 3 does not show....
thanks,
Kenny
