Re: After update, Ultra response to remote commands is way slow, some commands not recognized.
Did you change on the Roku: Go to Settings:System:Advanced System Settings - then Control by mobile apps. Change the Network Access to "Enabled"
All those commands work for me.
Harmony apparently changed their app. It used to ask if you wanted to enable IP control - now it does it automatically. The way around that is to hit the arrow continue button to interrupt it's search of ip addresses.

I'm assuming you're using a Harmony with a hub, by the way.

Yes, using Harmony Uub with Harmony Companion Remote as a universal.
User guide for Harmony says it transmits via IR, Bluetooth, or WiFi.
With the latency problem, I switched from IR to WiFi in the Harmony app - got there by tapping on Fix in Harmony. Don't know how to switch back.

Re: After update, Ultra response to remote commands is way slow, some commands not recognized.
Odd. Changing the Network Access setting to Enabled on the Roku should fix the ip lag.
The only way I know to change the Harmony back to RF is to delete and re-add the device or rerun the activity (I can't remember which) and when in starts looking to set the IP control, interrupt it by tapping the arrow in the upper right to continue BEFORE it completes the IP search.

Re: After update, Ultra response to remote commands is way slow, some commands not recognized.
Chel,
Possibly a related issue:
Model: 4640X - Roku Ultra
Serial number: YPOOEP411037 (7LC73E411037)
Software version: 14.1.4 • build 7709-29
GC version: 12.8.19
Timestamp: 2024-12-21T00:26:44Z
Please use issue ID 37-511-226 to report the current issue.
I think I've exhausted every combination/permutation to try and get my Roku Ultra to recognize my Harmony Companion remote (used with a Harmony Hub) as the Roku remote. What I have happening in every case is that the Harmony Activity can be set up correctly for startup and ending TV activity (including use of Roku steps, such as selecting a Roku app and starting the app), but once the Direct TV Streaming Roku app starts, the Harmony Companion remote reverts to a universal TV remote vs the universal Roku remote. All Roku buttons dead on the Companion remote.
Logitech last updated its Harmony HUB software a year ago The only thing that changed was a recent update to Roku Ultra software, after which the Harmony Companion remote would no longer function as a Roku remote. I can still use the Harmony iPhone app to act as a Roku remote as previously, but no longer the Harmony Companion remote.
Thanks for any help!

Roku Firmware Update Universal WiFi Remote Problem
My URC wifi remote stopped controlling my Roku this morning. Roku changed the settings for network control with firmware 14.1.4.
Under System>Advanced system settings>Control by mobile apps> new options are available. For my remote to work this setting has to be set to Enabled or Permissive. It was originally set to default, but was changed to Limited by the firmware update. Limited does not work with URC.

Re: After update, Ultra response to remote commands is way slow, some commands not recognized.
This is great for those for whom this works, but with my Roku Ultra, I only have "Default" and "Permissive" as options for "Control by mobile apps" and neither have worked for my Harmony Ultimate's up/down/left/right controls on the ring around the OK button. All other buttons seem to work for navigating the Roku (like back, fast forward, pause, etc.).

Re: After update, Ultra response to remote commands is way slow, some commands not recognized.
I'm afraid that changing the Advanced System Settings as described does not work for my Harmony Elite / Roku Ultra (2024) 4850x combination. For one thing, the "Control by mobile apps" only provides "Default" and "Permissive", not "Enabled". I have tried both available settings. Oddly, almost all the buttons on my Harmony Ultimate work - back, fast forward, reverse, pause, OK, etc. - just not the up/down/left/right of the ring around the OK button. I know that these buttons work, physically, because I can use them to control other devices, like my AVR.
(I have another Harmony Elite which uses an older Roku 4800x. *That* Roku does have the "Enabled" option., which I have used and seems to work.)
My Roku and Harmony hub should be on the same subnet and private IP addresses, although they are on a mesh with a physical backhaul, so might be on different nodes. Regardless, they should satisfy the constraint of "accepts commands only from private network addresses or the same subnet", I think.
I would like to teach my Harmony remote the IR codes from the original Roku remote, but it seems as though the remote might be using WiFi Direct rather than IR? Can that be changed somehow? I thought that Roku Ultra supported IR. I will reread what other have said about IR in this thread...
