Hi. I’m planning to purchase a Roku setup and trying to decide the best configuration for my situation.

I have a Samsung smart tv and a cambridge audio minx streaming music player. Both live in an armoire type entertainment cabinet with doors that we keep closed when not watching tv. I want to add roku capabilities and improve the poor sound that the tv has.

I am thinking to buy the soundbar, wireless sub woofer and a pair of wireless speakers. I'm would put the speakers on top of the cabinet. And the subwoofer on the floor next to the cabinet.

1) I would like to be able to stream music from the cambridge minx to thru the speakers. Would that be possible?

2) If I get those speakers is it redundant to buy the soundbar and would I be better buying the roku stick?

Please note that attempting to connect third-party audio devices to a surround sound setup with your Roku audio devices may lead to issues, as these devices are specifically engineered to operate solely with Roku OS. For an optimal and immersive audio streaming experience, we strongly recommend utilizing only Roku audio devices with your television.

To elaborate further, it is important to understand that using a Roku Streaming Stick alongside Roku Streambars or Soundbars would be unnecessary. This is because the Streambars and Soundbars already come equipped with Roku OS built-in, allowing for seamless streaming capabilities without the need for an additional Roku Stick.

Moreover, you can easily stream music using Roku speakers independently of third-party speakers. The Roku platform supports a variety of music apps, which can be downloaded directly onto your Roku device, enabling you to enjoy your favorite tunes effortlessly.

Thanks for confirming that using a 3rd party streaming music player in conjunction with a Roku Sound Bar or Roku speakers is not possible. 

The link you provided is regrading a Roku player versus a  Roku Soundbar.

I think I want to get a Roku Soundbar and a set of two Rocku Wireless speakers and a Roku sub woofer.

The Soundbar would be inside an entertainment armoire cabinet with doors that are closed when not watching the TV. I would connect the Soundbar to my Samsung smart TV with an HDMI or Optical cable.

The wireless speakers would sit on top of the armoire entertainment cabinet and the sub woofer would sit on the floor next to the cabinet.

With that configuration would I be able to play/stream music from my ipad thru the Rocku soundbar which is inside the armoire entertainment cabinet (with the doors closed) and and hear the music thru the wireless speakers that are on top of the cabinet?

In response to your inquiry about setting up your surround sound system, I'm pleased to confirm that you can effortlessly play or stream music from your iPad to your Roku Audio devices using Apple AirPlay.  

As you correctly pointed out, all of your Roku Audio devices will function harmoniously together, provided they remain within a range of 30 feet from the Roku Soundbar. Notably, the setup is quite forgiving—there's no need to worry about a closed cabinet door interfering with your audio playback, as long as both your iPad and Roku Audio devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This ensures a reliable connection, allowing you to immerse yourself in your favorite music without interruption.
