Westinghouse roku tv audio issues

Jump to solution

My Westinghouse roku tv will occasionally get muted or get extremely loud without the volume being adjusted, I've chatted with customer support a couple times and and the options they give don't seem to work. If I rewind 10 seconds then the audio will go back to normal but I'm tired of doing that and don't know what's wrong with my tv.

Hi, @Greer4009.

Welcome and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!

We'd be more than happy to assist you with having an issue with the volume on your Roku TV.

Could you please try these troubleshooting steps below:

  1. System Restart - Home > Settings > System > System Restart/Power > System Restart.
  2. Software Update - Home > Settings > System > System/Software Update > Check Now.

If that does not work, try adjusting the volume modes on your streaming device.
Here are the steps:

  1. Begin streaming content.
  2. Press the Star button on your Roku remote.
  3. Select Sound settings.
    • Note: If you do not see this selection, skip to step 4.
  4. Use the directional pad in the center of your Roku remote to switch Volume mode to the desired setting. The pad is plus-shaped.
    • Off: Volume modes are inactive and content volume is unmodified.
    • Leveling: This feature enables consistent volume across different types of entertainment, so you do not have to change the volume every time you switch channels or a commercial comes on.
    • Night: The volume of soft sounds like whispering is increased while the volume of loud sounds like explosions is decreased, making it easier to hear your show at night without disturbing others.

Note: In some streaming channels, the Star button is assigned a different function meaning it will not open the options menu as described above. In these cases, you must launch a different channel, such as The Roku Channel, and follow the steps above. Once the volume mode is switched, the setting will remain when you return to the original channel.

If there's anything else we can do to assist you, please let us know. We're always willing to help.
