Video game systems won’t show up as connected on Roku.

Jump to solution

Roku tv won’t show PS4 or Nintendo Switch as connected when they are plugged in via HDMI. Cords and systems work on a separate TV.

Hi @Fobelljb,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We understand you're having an issue with your Roku device not showing your PS4, and we are here to assist.

Could you share the following details:

  • May we know what Roku device you have?
  • Do you observe this behavior when turning the TV on or attempting to switch to that HDMI input while the TV is already on?
  • Does your PS4 will work with other TVs?

For troubleshooting purposes, in Settings > TV inputs > HDMI [1/2/3]> HDMI mode, we recommend changing this option from 'Auto' to HDMI 2.0 for the HDMI port that your PS4 is connected to and see if this helps resolve the issue you are seeing. (You might also try manually selecting HDMI 2.0 on both devices and seeing if this option works.)

Please keep us posted with what you discover.

All the best,
Chel
