Hi I have a TCL Roku TV set and bought a refurbished Roku stream bar that soon as I got it connected started to mess up my closed captions it will go on or off  it's kinda infuriating to be honest ? Any ideas ? Thank you.

Please be aware that most channels and apps contain their own settings and will override the settings in Roku menus. Check inside each channel's settings and turn off captions on each. Some channels have their own caption settings that are separate from the system settings.

Closed captioning on specific channels: Here are instructions for activating and customizing closed captions on some common channels.

• Netflix: How to use subtitles, captions, or alternate audio
• Hulu: Using closed captions and subtitles on Hulu
• Sling: Using closed captions

Additionally, using a Roku Stream Bar with a TCL Roku TV, both running Roku OS, could potentially contribute to closed captioning issues due to potential inconsistencies in how each device handles caption data, especially if there are slight variations in their firmware versions. This could lead to potential synchronization or display problems with captions.
