Finally! Thank you Roku for sending through an update. My two TCL TVs are communicating with Google Home now! It's been a while, but they did it!

I've also been having this issue. I have 4 TCL Roku TVs and 3 work great with Google Home. However, the newest one bought in October of 2023 has never worked with Google Home. 

Model number: 55S453

Updated on 1/24/24 to 12.5.5 build 4174-CG

Hi @ytsejam1138,

We believe there's an ongoing investigation by our Roku engineers regarding this concern. To include your device in the said review and investigation, kindly provide us with the following:

  • Roku device or TV model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About).
  • Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID).
  • Troubleshooting steps you have taken in an attempt to resolve the issue.

Kindly ensure the details you will share are complete and precise for our team to specifically review. Your response is highly appreciated.

Thank you for the response. Here is my issue ID YX-058-790. I have done every troubleshooting technique listed in this thread. Unlink/Relink Roku account from Google Home. Tried different wireless channels. The Roku app can control this device and my other 3 devices. The Google Home app can see this device, I just get the "something went wrong" error each time I try to issue a command either verbally or in the app. Google Home also has no problem working with my other 3 TCL TVs.

Having this issue and it started a few days ago, already trouble shooted everything I could in this thread and still having the issue. Issue ID is MN-261-127 houpfully you guys can help!

The problem isn't limited to Google Home. I have two TCL Roku TVs. The Alexa skill works for one but on the other I just get "thinking" then "something went wrong." 

 

The TV that works:

Model 43S455

Serial X01200NS0P04

Software 13.0.0 build 24062-CG

Device ID S0JNH29S0P04

The TV that doesn't work:

Model 55R65

Software version 13.1.4 build 1505-DK
