TCL Roku TV Wireless Soundbar won't pair

Jump to solution

I've gone through all the support steps like factory resetting it. Bought it new and it won't pair to my ONN Roku TV. Tried chat support and they had no idea what I was talking about even after sending them the link to the product. https://www.roku.com/products/audio/tcl-roku-tv-wireless-soundbar

Any ideas? Maybe it's a lemon?

In case it helps someone in the future- I got it to work after factory resetting it, unplugging TV, unplugging modem and router for three minutes. Then plugging it all back in and pairing worked.

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community, @Zaiidita!

We appreciate your effort to inform us about the issue you're encountering with your Roku TV Wireless Soundbar, which you're having trouble pairing with your TCL Roku TV. We'd be more than glad to suggest workarounds for you to try.

Try this...

After you plug the power cable into your Roku TV Wireless Soundbar, you will hear instructions asking you to put your TV in pairing mode with the following steps:

  1. Make sure your TV is powered on
  2. Press and hold Home

on your TV remote for 5 seconds
  3. Select Wireless soundbar and confirm

Once your TV is in pairing mode, you will see a screen like the following:

If your TV does not enter pairing mode, review the suggestions below:

  • Use the existing remote: You must use your existing TV remote to enter pairing mode and be sure to point it directly at the TV screen.
  • Install fresh batteries: Replace the existing batteries in your Roku remote with new matching batteries.
  • Check the software version: Your TV must be running Roku OS 10.0 or higher to work with a Roku TV Wireless Soundbar. If you have not done so yet, check the software version of your Roku TV.
  • Manually enter pairing mode: Go to Settings > Remotes & devices > Set up a new device > Wireless soundbar.

Once your TV is in pairing mode, it will automatically go through the setup process and connect your wireless soundbar.

If you wish to revisit the complete pairing process, please refer to the comprehensive article on setting up your Roku TV Wireless Soundbar.

Let us know if that resolves the issue. Please get back to us if you need more help.

All the best,
Emman
