Screen reader will randomly cut on on multiple apps

Jump to solution

The screen reader will randomly turn on on multiple apps. All apps have the screen reader turned off. I have checked them all and this is very frustrating. My paramount+ Netflix and peacock apps are all doing this. Spectrum app is not. Someone please help me with this!!

Hello! @Pittboss15,

Welcome aboard here in the Roku Community!

Thank you for contacting us about the issue with the screen reader. We are happy to help.

  • What Roku device are you using right now?
  • is this the first time you have experienced this issue? If YES, when did the issue start?
  • Is your Roku device updated? By navigating to Settings> System > Software update > Check Now
  • Do you have any other Roku device/s? If yes, are they experiencing the same issue?

A system restart is the least invasive way to reset a system. You can also restart from the Settings menu.

  1. Press Home  on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
  5. Select System restart

In either case, your Roku device will complete a system restart and hopefully return to normal operation after a moment.
