Hi! I have a TCL Roku Smart TV model: 50S423 that's 4 years old. I was watching it today, and then I paused it during a show and I couldn't un-pause it with the remote (the screen was stuck on the floating screen saver). I couldn't turn the TV off with the remote, so I unplugged it, waited a half hour and re-plugged it into the wall outlet. The light blue light at the bottom of the TV on, so it seems like there is power, but there is not visual or audio.
Things I have tried so far:
*changing batteries for the remote control
*unplugging and re-plugging power supply, as well as HDMI, ethernet and power cable.
* trying to login via app on phone to use it as a remote -> the app isn't picking up the device at all.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks
Hi @MissingMyTV,
Thanks for your first post in the Roku Community!
I noticed in your post that on your TCL Roku TV, you can see nothing and cannot hear anything. No worries, I am more than willing to assist. I can see that you have tried all the possible troubleshooting steps in trying to resolve the issue, and I really appreciate it.
How about you try to plug in the TCL Roku TV into another power outlet? If it still won't work, I highly suggest you contact the TCL TV manufacturer for further assistance.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
Riamie
@MissingMyTV, try turning it on with the power button on the TV, On my 50" TCL, it's a good inch behind the TCL badge on the bottom center of the TV. It seems they almost try to hide them, but there's one somewhere.
