Roku TV suddenly shutting off

Jump to solution

Hello, I have a Hisense Roku TV, I know it is at least over 2 years old (my husband got it before we started dating). I was sitting in my chair watching TV when suddenly the screen glitched a little bit and then the screen went dark, no sound, nothing. I checked the tv connection and it was fine, the red light at the bottom of the tv was blinking, and that was it. I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, I have checked everything and I am not sure what happened. The TV still will not turn back on and the light is still blinking. Did my Roku TV just die? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the TV might have a major issue.  It could have been a power surge that knocked something out or just a bad component on the inside or ones that don't hold up well to electric surges.  I suggest reaching out to Hisense customer service, since they are the manufacturer of the TV and see if they can provide any help.  Roku only licenses their OS to third party manufacturers and doesn't really provide any technical support regarding other brands other than OS related issues.  Unfortunately, budget level TVs like these cut quality and durability to sell at the prices they sell at.
