I bought this TV for a guest room so it doesn’t get a ton of use, but never goes more than a couple months without use. Every time I have guests I update the system and have to re-login to all the apps. Every step is so slow.
Is this just the nature of an older TCL system?

Depending on the year of purchase, older televisions may experience performance issues over time due to frequent software updates.
This can lead to decreased flexibility and responsiveness as the TV's hardware struggles to meet the latest software updates. It's worth noting that the timeframe for the software upgrade will be influenced by the progress of the channel providers. They are also working on updating their software, and it's possible that compatibility issues may surface as a result of these updates.
However, suppose your TV still supports the latest software updates and the TV interface is lagging. We can still try to fix that by rebooting your TV to resume its average performance.
To do that, navigate to your Roku Home screen, then go to Settings > System > Power > System Restart.
