ROKU Select Series 4K TV turns on by itself in middle of night

Jump to solution

I have the 50" ROKU Select Series 4K TV. Over the past couple of weeks, the TV turns on by itself in the middle of the night. No one else in my apartment. No pets. Can someone help, please?

@duker1,

Thank you for the update.

Enabling a feature on your Roku TV system called Fast TV Start lets you wake your TV screen off and perform various actions using voice commands with your Roku voice remote.

Please try to disable this feature on your TV.

You can disable Fast TV Start on your Roku TV at any time using the instructions below:

  1. Press Home on your TV remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Power
  5. Select Fast TV Start
  6. Highlight Enable 'Fast TV Start' and uncheck the box to disable it

Hi @duker1,

Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!

We want to investigate this issue further with your Roku TV, which keeps turning on by itself. Is there a stuck button on your Roku remote?

Please try restarting your Roku TV by going to settings, system, power, and system restart. See if that fixes the issue.

Best regards,
John

It came on again by itself overnight. I followed the instructions you provided but nothing happened.

I had the same issue and tried everything to solve this until I used the remote app and no more turning on by itself.

It's the actual remote that was causing the problem.

Have you tried this?

I don't use the app. Have to look into it.

The answer for me was to disable the screen saver on my tv.

I have had the tv off for an hour now and it has stayed off.

Finally!
