Hi, I started experiencing the same issues with a TCL 55" Roku TV today.
badh0r53, I have the same exact model and the same exact issue.
I tried the procedure in the Reddit post that you linked (but still no luck for me):
1. Unplug the TV then hold the power button for 20 seconds to drain any 'flea power'.
2. Hold in the reset button.
3. After 20 seconds, with the reset button still depressed, plug in the TV.
4. Keeping the reset button depressed, hold the power button for 30 seconds.
5. Let go of both buttons.
6. If the TV doesn't come on automatically after 60 seconds, press the power button.
And I agree there are tons of TCL threads about this issue, as well as tons of onn. threads about this issue too, just look through them. This happened to me when the power was interrupted to the TV, and came back on.
It’s too bad this has to be the case with these TVs. It’s a loss of hard earned money to have to go buy another brand to replace all them. I hope the software engineers at Roku are being made aware of this issue.

Worst TV EVER!
Listen you, that's enough about congratulating us it's our first time here. We're here because all the Onn TV's ain't working. They're all blinking non stop, shutting off and on and nothing else! We all bought the ONN TVs. I have the 75 inch one. It does the same thing everyone in this thread says. I'm tried all the suggestions. Nothing worked. It just blinks on and off when plugged in. It doesn't do anything else. You need to own up to it that this is a defective piece of junk!
@JoeBunda, it may be a piece of junk, but it's onn's piece of junk. Roku is only responsible for the software and it's most likely a hardware problem. I doubt you'll get onn/Walmart to do anything about it if it's not still under warranty.
The Reddit thread suggests a using a wired connection to work through the problem. That was successful for me.
