There's no camera in Roku TVs.
Hi @cdpierce81,
Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community!
We understand you thought the light indicator on the TCL Roku TV was a camera. Please be aware that Roku TVs don't have a built-in camera.
The power button is the light indicator under the TCL logo on a TCL TV. It is usually located below the TV's power indicator light, right under the TCL logo, and is often placed at the bottom of the TV for easier access.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance or clarification.
All the best,
Chel
I could hear people talking on my 50” onn Roku smart tv, they even described things happening in my house in real time, how can I disconnect the built in camera? So this doesn’t happen again
There's no camera in Roku TVs.
So how where they able see what I was doing if I don’t have an external camera?
and speak directly to me? Is it a trick?
Thanks for your reply, yes screen reader is and always was off, this was something completely different.
There is a camera on my 55" TCL Roku TV. It's down at the bottom of my TV by the light indicator, under the TCL logo.

My ex was watching me the same way through my TV but I don't know how. He could tell me what I was wearing, conversation I had on the phone and who came to my house and even described them. Roku isn't telling us the truth about something!!
My tv started having problems and today I experienced something scary. First I could hear the news. Then all of a sudden, it went quiet, black, then I heard movement like someone was trying to get comfortable, while seeing white and yellow lines moves up and down the tv, everytime there was movement, then something like clearing your throat, then when I told my bf about it while talking to him, this was happening, I put my phone next to the tv so he could hear it and all of a sudden it stopped, n it sounded like someone was typing on a keyboard, then all of a sudden, the news was back on. Again. Screen has been messed up one day. The night before all was good and then I came home from being away and it was all messed up. Something weird is going on with my tv and it sounded scary.
This is what it did. I factory reset all my TVs, went and turned off all permissions for any voice or mirroring or camera access, put a code on them to download any app, went through the privacy choices and turned all of those on, deleted the Roku account I had and set my TV back up with a new email different from the one I had before with old Roku account. Also if you plan to use that app on your phone make sure you don't give any cameras or microphone or mirroring access to the app in there either. Let me know if this helped you,
