Apps keep crashing and Netflix is loaded automatically over and over

Any app I’m in watching a show, whether it be Disney+ or crave or cbc Gem or prime video, Roku will leave those apps randomly and load Netflix. This happens over and over. I’ve reset the Roku stick. I’ve unplugged and plugged back in. How do I fix this problem?

it could be a malfunctioning remote.  Try taking the batteries out of the remote once you start a video and see if it still happens.

I did take batteries out of the remote and also replaced them. I thought this may be the issue as well. It didn’t fix it either unfortunately.

@Jes91,

Welcome to the Roku Community, and we appreciate you for sharing this experience you have.

As per @renojim  recommendation. During playback try removing those batteries on your remote like a total disconnection from the device and see if that makes a difference.

Keep us posted!

Thanks,

Hi Rey!

Yes I have tried that as well. Even the remote without batteries it continues to do this.

Hi @Jes91,

Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!
We understand you're having a problem with the channels since it will automatically crash and the Netflix is loading. We're happy to assist you further. Please try to restart your modem and router. After restarting your modem and router, you may need to restart your Roku by going to settings, system, power, and system restart. (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.)

Let us know how it works, and we will continue to assist you further.

Best regards,

John
