All HDMI inputs have stopped working on my TCL 50 tv

It didn't happen all at once but over the past week the 4 HDMI ports on my 50" TCL Roku tv have stopped working and I'm not sure what exactly may be causing this issue.

The TCL model number is # 50S53. Up until this issue I have had no problems. I have probably had the TV now for 4-5 years. I do plan to upgrade but thought and planned to get a little more time with the TV.

I could do some troubleshooting but thought id make a post to see if anyone else have had similar issues and if so how they handled it.

Re: All HDMI inputs have stopped working on my TCL 50 tv

Hi @Dfresh567,

Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!

We get that your Roku TV HDMI port is not detecting the device that you are connecting to. We're here to assist you with this.

Before we proceed, we would like to know what external device you connected to your Roku TV and what error you are getting.

In the meantime let's see if this will work for you.

  • Switch the HDMI cord to a different HDMI port. (Example: From HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 or 3)
  • Firmly plugged in the HDMI cord to the HDMI port.
  • Try connecting your external device to a different television and see if the same issue occurs.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,
John

Re: All HDMI inputs have stopped working on my TCL 50 tv

@RokuJohnB

I've gone pretty crazy with making sure i try each HDMI port and triple checking to make sure they are firmly plugged in. I had a retro upscaler which i was using to play my SNES which I thought was broken and was able to return it cause one day it stopped working and figure it was that was the issues,

After that my Nintendo switch hmdi port stopped working and my apply TV hdmi port I can't really tell which came first but now I've tried my apple TV which is the newest version in every HDMI port. I'm done the same with my switch. I'm tried different HDMI cords you name it.

One thing i have yet to try is unplugging the TV or if there is a hard reset for the TCL that cause have a postive effect on the HDMI ports. I've had the TV for a handful of year

Thanks for responding and trying to help!
