3 less than year old voice Roku remotes all lost the voice command feature last night. If we use voice it freezes the Rokus and restarts it. Can only find the app and click on it. Have unplugged the Rokus. Have replaced the batteries. Have checked for updates. Have checked internet connections and systems. We would really like our voice feature back. Thank you
Has anyone contacted Roku support by any chance?
Hi Community users,
Thanks for the posts regarding the issue you are experiencing.
Please be aware that there was a service interruption impacting Roku Voice remotes with Alexa and Google. We believe this issue is now resolved.
We would recommend checking to see if you are still experiencing an issue and keeping us posted.
Regards,
Karla
Hello @cmcnamara2023
Thanks for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing.
Could you tell us how are you powering your Roku device? Is it connected to the USB port of the TV or to a wall outlet? In some cases, the USB power provided by the TV is not sufficient to power the device. Even though your Roku device may appear to be working, running with insufficient power can lead to instability, crashing, and other unpredictable behavior.
Using the included power cord and power adapter, we suggest plugging your Roku into a working power outlet in the wall.
Let us know if there's any difference after.
All the best,
Kariza
Thank you. Will check when I get home.
still crashing here, and with any command (not just power off)
EDIT: working great now after that last reboot!
No it is NOT fixed and I do NOT believe this is a service outage at all
NOT ALL OF MY TVS did this at once….. half of my TVs worked last night
and right now NONE of them work at all
RESTART ALL TVS using the system “restart system”
after manually doing this on all of my TVS voice control is back
This same issue is happening to my 3 Roku TVs since last night using Google Voice control. Has previously worked for 6 months no issues. Nothing has changed in my setup. Asking to turn a device on/off, the TV notification appears on the screen, then nothing happens until the TV reboots itself. There are many similar posts on reddit r/roku of people experiencing the same issue.
Just checked , my Roku TV is now turning off properly
