I can't listen to SXM for more than 25 minutes on my Roku 3960. After 20-25 minutes, it comes to a complete halt and kicks me back to the home screen. I reload SXM, and I can only get another 10 minutes or so. It also crashes on Xumo and Pluto when I'm not watching live TV, but I listen to music more. At this point, I'm ready to trade in my Roku 3960 for a Firestick or an AppleTV thing, I'm so pissed off! It's like trying to surf the net with only a 256 MB PC from back in 2003.
Hello @clogwearerwayne
We're sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing.
Could you tell us how are you powering your Roku device? Is it connected to the USB port of the TV or to a wall outlet? In some cases, the USB power provided by the TV is not sufficient to power the device. Even though your Roku device may appear to be working, running with insufficient power can lead to instability, crashing, and other unpredictable behavior.
Using the included power cord and power adapter, we suggest plugging your Roku into a working power outlet in the wall. Powering it through a power outlet in the wall has the additional advantage that your Roku player will not need to power up every time you turn on your TV. This means your Roku player will be up and running faster than it would be connected to a TV.
Let us know if there's any difference after.
All the best,
Kariza
It IS connected from a cable at the HDMI2 port to the little, uh, plastic biscuit at the bottom of the set, which is connected to a power strip.
Thanks for the reply.
We suggest you try powering your Roku device to a power outlet in the wall to see if that will resolve the issue you're experiencing. Also, have you tried removing the affected channels and then reinstalling them?
Keep us posted!
All the best,
Kariza
