Roku ads for woke Disney witches

Jump to solution

I’m unplugging my Roku player maybe forever.  I am sick and tired of Roku in bed with Disney promoting lesbian witches and grooming children on their ads.  I turned on ad preferences and could block some of the advertising, some large advertising they just wouldn’t let me block.  Now today in the small ad box for roku channel there’s an unblockable free preview for agatha all along, a show about more lesbian witches.  Time for everyone to boycott Roku.  I will be transferring all my paid accounts to my smart tv I got later after I bought Roku years ago.  I used to prefer and promote Roku but no more.  If you’re going to shove your woke politics down my throat you can go broke.  It’s not my fault or your viewers that you invested in the now defunct SVB bank and lost half your money.  So you teamed up with Disney, the most vile corporation in America and push their flops and agendas down peoples throats.  No choice at all for your viewers to reject these offensive ads.  I’m done after being a loyal Roku supporter since your beginning.  Go woke, go broke

Agree! Too many other choices like Amazon Fire TV, Apple or Google. Should be Roku platform only - any experience should be reserved to be a downloadable app only. Do not shove unwanted content onto customer's platforms (this is more than an ad as Roku tries to claim - this is part of the main navigation) and then force them to opt out (kind of like the old poorly done U2 stunt). Anthony Wood should be ashamed. Start the Roku switch to other companies if this is their new ploy.

@crafty22072 I am sure that Roku is devasted by losing one customer.  You give yourself far too much credit.  Just a reminder that you do not speak for the majority of Roku customers, even though you probable believe that you do.  Roku has tens of thousands of customers who enjoy using their devices each day and do not get upset by an advertisement.  That is the reality.

If you decide to do this, keep your future options open by subscribing to your premiums directly with each channel supplier on their web page.  Then you'll be able to view the channel on all platforms supported by that service: the service's website, the service's apps for Android or iOS devices, the service's apps on other streaming devices (Smart TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, etc.)

I whole heartedly agree.  The ads are annoying and bad enough, but now you have placed ads on my menu options??? Seriously?  You have no way to opt out for this.  There is always a linee in the sand or bridge too far and this is it.  I don't speak for others, only for myself. I have 4 roku tv's, several getting near replacement.  What I will not do is replace them with new roku tv's.  Give me a way to opt out of your ads and changing my menu or I am gone.

Do you really think Fire TV, Google TV, and most TV streaming are any better? They shove even more ads onto you than Roku.

A good and thoughtful question. No they are likely not any  better.  Funny thing is, I don't mind commercials at all in the Roku channels; they pay for the show.  I greatly mind they are intruding on my main screen and littering it up with trash I neither like nor want. It is in the way of what I want to see in navigating through the menus.  I freely acknowledge that my posting this will likely have no effect, but I would rather make my opinion known than simply acquiesce to the advertising tyranny and assault of my main screen.

Same sentiment here.

I don't want ANY items added anywhere on my screen that I haven't installed myself or at least opted into seeing.

Promoting this degenerate disney lesbo **bleep** is offensive AF - most people who want to see deviant gaywad pornography know how to seek it out - people not seeking it out should not have it foisted upon them.

Godspeed to Gaza with all of you.
