I have 2 Rokus on my Roku account - a Roku 2 & a Roku 3. My old Roku 2 sat unused (but plugged in/on) for *years*. Now I want to use it, but it won't let me find CTN (Christian Television Network) on a search -OR- the new, working version of WHT (World Harvest Television), only the old, non-working app.
My account says CTN is installed already and it is, but only on the other device, not this one. The device says it's been updated, but it can't be because it doesn't work right!!
What can I do? Reset it? How?
Both of those devices are pretty old models (2011 and 2013) and the latest apps are most likely not compatible and no longer supported with your devices. The older versions of those apps are most likely not supported any longer by the maker of the apps you are trying to view. With your devices being old, discontinued models, the newer versions of the apps will most likely not work on those devices.
I am not sure what version of OS your devices have, but the latest models have OS14, which is not compatible with those models either, further complicating your ability to view/stream those app.
Most likely you would have to update to a newer version of Roku.
If you go to Settings/System/About, you can get the exact model number. That can help narrow down support.
That Roku 2 is certainly long out of support, and as @JWS9518 mentioned, many newer apps will not work on an outdated OS version.
Some versions of the Roku3 are still supported.
If you want to replace that Roku2, I would recommend the Express 4K+. That assumes that old Roku is connected via HDMI and not composite, as I think some Roku 2's supported.
