I did a factory test so everything includes my apps are all up to date. And there is no specific date or time, it is all day. The only app the works Is Netflix. Thus, HBO max, x finity, Hulu, Amazon prime, discoveryplus, and apple are not working. All of them get stuck trying to open or I get the drm message from Prime and discovery plus.
Hi @CassieJ,
Thanks for keeping in touch and providing information.
We'll go ahead and send this over to the Roku team for an investigation. We'll get back to you once we have an update is available I'll be sure to let the Community know.
We appreciate your patience for the time being!
Many thanks,
Mary
Is there a fix for this? It’s been 3 days for me and support chat was no help. The guy actually got mad at me because I couldn’t connect to a “different” network. I don’t know about most of you but I only have one network in my home. This is happening on my Westinghouse Roku TV but not on the streaming stick in the kid’s room.
There is no fix yet.
I'm having the same problem! Everything worked until a few days ago. Now Discovery plus won't play anything. It gives me the DRM protected content error. I have two other roku tvs & the other two work just fine. But my main tv will not play youtube or discovery. I have been researching for hours, I have tried anything & everything to fix the issue with no luck. I factory reset the TV, I uninstalled & reinstalled the apps, I did a hard reset, checked my connection & left it unplugged over night. I've tried updating, but there are no updates. It's pretty frustrating!
I don't know what's going on but Discovery plus is not working. Three days ago it worked just fine. Now every time I play a show it gives me this error, "Sorry there was an error trying to playback DRM protected content." It's odd because the app works fine on my other two TV's & on my phone. The tv it doesn't work on is a TCL Roku smart tv. I researched the last two days & have tried everything I can to fix the issue. I tried everything I've found on the roku site, on the discovery plus help site, & everything suggested on YouTube. Also youtube stopped working at the same time discovery did. It just won't play the videos. Both apps I can log into but as soon as I pick a video they will not play. I've spent so much time trying to figure this out & I'm at a loss on what to do next.
I have the same issue where now i can't access any of my streaming app contents. This all happened when I got a notice on my screen saying you had updated my Roku Ultra. It started Friday morning 11/19 and restarting and rebooting does nothing. My Roku stick in the other room works perfectly fine. Please fix this. It is obviously the update that has caused this and not on my end.
So we started the router and then unplugged and restarted the roku and that seemed to do the trick. Good luck.
Worked for a day but can’t get into apps again. Oddly only Netflix is working.
