ROKU logo appears on screen

When I am watching cable TV, I will get a ROKU logo that looks like an HDMI adapter with an X above it flash on the screen and then go away after about 10 secs.

@Catsron

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that you are experiencing issues with the HDMI connections on your Roku. We are here to investigate further.

To troubleshoot the issue, please follow these steps:

  • Reinsert the cables at the back of the TV and ensure they are properly connected.
  • Restart your Roku by navigating to Settings > System > Power > System restart. This will refresh your TV's system.
  • In addition, please specify which Roku TV you are experiencing problems with.

We recommend trying the steps suggested above to see if it improves your current situation.

Re: ROKU logo appears on screen

This sounds to me like something your TV is flashing on the screen.

What is your TV make and model?  Maybe someone familiar with it will know how to deal with your issue.

Re: ROKU logo appears on screen

By any chance, does this happen about 20 minutes after switching from Roku to cable?  If so, perhaps your TV feels the need to tell you that a device has powered down/gone to sleep?

Banned but back. Because why not?
