I have a Roku tv but my son has an Amazon Fire tv. We downloaded Roku to it but I can’t get paramount + which I subscribe to through my Roku account, on his tv(Amazon Fire). What to do?
Unfortunately, some subscriptions through 3rd parties may run into this. I assume you use the Paramount+ app on your device, and not through The Roku Channel? Subscriptions through some like that (like Prime) will only work through that app. There is a Roku Channel app for Fire TV if needed.
Otherwise, you may need to cancel paying through Roku, and sign up directly with P+. Always offers the widest device selection.
Just to be clear, as I may have missed something in your post. If you use the P+ app on your TV, you should be able to use the P+ app on Fire TV. The tricky part may be the proper sign in to use. Probably the same as your Roku account.
When you have a paid premium channel subscription made through a third party instead of directly with the channel, your subscription is with the third party not with the channel. These subscriptions are typically only viewable via the third party that collects the money, in this case, via Roku.
The Roku app you can install on non-Roku devices is primarily a remote control for Rokus. It doen't give you access to all the channels on your Roku. You CAN view The Roku Channel through it, but only the free stuff on The Roku Channel, not the paid content that you can only view on Roku devices or Roku TVs.
If you had subscribed through Amazon you could view it on the Fire TV but not the Roku.
To view on multiple platforms, you need to subscribe directly with the premium channel on its website. Then you can view it on any platform it supports
There are two different apps one is Paramount+ and it's a different app Paramount+ by Roku. You can subscribe to either one but they will not cross over. I have a Roku stick on my LG TV and when I tried to sign into Paramount+ it's that I had no account that's because my account was with Roku Paramount+.. do not call Paramount they will be very happy to open a whole new account so you get charged double, by Roku and by Paramount separately
It's more confusing than that. The Paramount+ app can be used if you subscribe directly (or some 3rd party perks like Walmart+) or through regular Roku. These subscriptions will work on all devices.
The worst way is through The Roku Channel. That subscription will only work when accessed through The Roku Channel.
