OTA Local scanned channels disappear on Hisense Roku Smart TV

I am having a problem recently with my 2 year old, 65” Hisense Roku TV loosing the OTA stations after I scan for them. I have the most recent Roku Update of 11/23/23. Initially the OTA stations show up. But if I exit the Live TV to use other streaming apps they disappear. It is frustrating to say the least! I have taken a look around the internet and whatever work-arounds I’ve seen are simply bandaids you have to put on and then rip off again (ie hiding and unhiding streaming channels.) Sort of doing a factory reset is there any other potential trick or tip I have missed? Sounds like a bad update that Roku should be taking care of post haste! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Roku Community, @MadatRowkoo!

Thanks for reporting the missing OTA channels on your TCL Roku TV. We'd be happy to review this with the team to determine the cause.

Before proceeding, kindly provide us with additional information such as follows:

  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
  • A photo of what you are seeing on the Live TV Guide or when you access Live TV. (How do I insert an image in a post)

We'll be looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Carly

Re: OTA Local scanned channels disappear on Hisense Roku Smart TV

Ah, that’s frustrating when the channels you’ve set up just vanish like that! It could be a couple of things causing this issue with your Hisense Roku TV. Sometimes, a software update or a change in the broadcasting signals can mess things up, making your channels disappear. It’s like the TV forgets what it scanned earlier, especially if there's a hiccup in the signal or something like that.

One thing you might want to try is to do a fresh channel scan. Go to the settings on your Roku TV, navigate to the "Antenna TV" or "Live TV" section, and then select the option to rescan for channels. It’s a bit of a process, but it usually helps the TV pick up all the available channels again. If that doesn’t do the trick, you might want to check the antenna connections too, just in case something got loose or shifted.

Also, it could be that your TV is trying to auto-update or has some kind of power-saving setting that causes it to lose the channel memory after a while. It wouldn’t hurt to go into the settings and see if there’s anything like that enabled—maybe even turn it off if you can find it.
